Steve is a Super League referee who officiates for BBC and SKY televised rugby league games. He has refereed numerous major matches and at the age of 25, was the youngest ever first grade referee.

His first professional game was Barrow v Carlisle Border Raiders on August 27th, 1995, and his first Super League game was Castleford Tigers v Paris St Germain on August 17th, 1996.
